History
Atatürk University was established as one of the first five universities in Turkey in Erzurum, a plateau city at an altitude of approximately 2000 meters, and has shown a development worthy of its name throughout its fifty-year history.
On the other hand, the Education Institute, which was established under the name of Erzurum Education Institute under the Ministry of National Education in 1961 and started education in Ali Ravi Primary School buildings, was moved to today’s Yoncalık campus in 1963; The education period, which was 2 years, was increased to 3 years in the 1967-68 academic year.
